Arthur L. Ketz was born in Chicago, IL, May 8, 1931. He passed away peacefully at his home in Entiat on April 13 after a long and courageous battle with bone cancer. Art graduated from Mt. Si High School and attended Washington State College. He served four years in Europe in the Army and then finished his education at the University of Washington. Art was married to Lucille Hill Bellinger Ketz for 40 years. She preceded him in death in 2000.

He spent his younger years traveling as a salesman, was a cab driver in Seattle for a short time, and was a licensed real estate agent. For 30 years, Art managed the Poplars Motel in Silverdale, WA, and then retired and moved to Wenatchee. Art's passions included fishing and golf. He was an avid baseball and football fan.

Art is survived by his wife, Ruthie Wahl; his four children, Darlene (Ray) LaCour of North Bend, WA, Don (Rhonda) Bellinger of East Wenatchee, Rob (Sandy) Bellinger of Silverdale, and Connie (Mark) Thomas of Bellingham, WA; his brother, Dick (Carol) Ketz of Bothell, WA; and his sister, Dorothy Brewer of Bothell, WA. Ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive him.

A memorial will be held for Art at his home in Entiat on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at 14910 Red Delicious Avenue. The family would love to have you join them to celebrate his life.
