Clanence "Tom" Hardgrove

Clarence “Tom” Hardgrove died on June 20, 2007 in his home surrounded by his loving family.  Tom lived his life with family as being most important to him.  He was born on May 6, 1933 to Clarence and Jannie Hardgrove in Redondo Beach, CA.  Tom spent most of his school years in Redondo Beach, and graduated from Prosser High School in 1951.  He enlisted in the Marine Corps and served from 1951 to 1954 including a tour of duty in the Korean War.  Tom married Frances Menzia in 1955 and moved to southern California.  He was employed at Standard Oil Company in El Segundo, CA where he worked as a machinist.  He moved his family to Washington state in 1966 to work at Douglas United Nuclear in Hanford.  In 1970, the family moved to Cashmere, WA and Tom worked at Alcoa for 27 years.  He was very fortunate to love his occupation of being a machinist.

Tom is survived by his wife, Frances; daughters Lisa Crosslin (Lee) of Wenatchee, Gayle White (Roy) of East Wenatchee; Pamela Hardgrove of Lake Stevens, WA, and Joy Ingraham (Dave) of Peshastin; son, Robert Hardgrove (Jennifer) of East Wenatchee; sister, Lela Williams of Fountain Valley, CA; grandchildren, Melissa Riggs, Stacey Fortin, Sara and Josh White, Jack and Brian Ferguson, Jeremy Hickman and Jessika, Darin and Alex Hardgrove; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Madilyn Riggs and Natasha Ferguson.  He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and two sisters – Marybelle Jacobon and Ruby Brown.

A Vigil will be held at Betts Funeral Home in Wenatchee on Sunday, June 24 at 7:30 p.m.  The Celebration of his Life will be on Monday, June 25 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Cashmere.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Wenatchee, c/o Central Washington Hospital.  Many thanks to the wonderful Hospice caregivers for loving care, especially to P.J.
