Elsie Allena Bane
East Wenatchee, Washington
January 10, 2008

Elsie Allena Bane, 69, passed away peacefully at Central Washington Hospital, January 10, 2008, with her husband and sons at her side. She was born Elsie Moates in Seattle, WA, on February 12, 1938. Elsie attended the old H.B. Ellison Junior High School and Wenatchee High School. She met and married Jack Sears in 1954, and had one son, Ronald W. Sears. Later, she married John Bane of Wenatchee on September 12, 1958, and they had a son, Michael A. Bane. Her husband was in the Navy and she followed him to Norfolk, VA. After five years there, they were transferred to San Diego, CA. John retired from the Navy 12-years later and they moved from San Diego to make their permanent home in East Wenatchee. Elsie worked in several Wenatchee restaurants including the Owl Cafe, Smitty's and The Restaurant & Bake Shop before retiring. She loved to travel and explore new places and had a special passion for camping with her family. Elsie had been known to leave her husband at home rather than miss a day on the lake or in the woods. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints and the local Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary for 30 years.

Survivors include her husband John of East Wenatchee; sons, Ron Sears of 29 Palms, CA, and Michael Bane of Wenatchee; sisters, Theda Mosher of Wenatchee and Delores Feil of East Wenatchee; brother, Ernie Vipond of East Wenatchee; an uncle, Joe Van Sant; three granddaughters; and two grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Clemmie Vipond; and five brothers, Rollie, Dick, John, Carl and Jerry.

The family will have a private service at a later date.
