Grace A. Mickey, 89, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Monday, July 9, 2007.  She was born on March 1, 1918, to Ray and Cecil Short in Danville, WA.  She moved to Wenatchee in 1922 with her family, graduating from Wenatchee High School in 1938 on Memorial Day.  Grace married Harry “Oscar” Mickey in Wenatchee.  She was a substitute rural mail carrier for the Post Office for many years.  Grace was an artist, mostly painting with oils; wrote music and won first place and received a national Free Methodist Church award for a hymn.  She also loved gardening.  Grace was a member of the Wenatchee Free Methodist Church for 75 years and served as a Sunday School teacher, was active in the Womens’ Missionary Society; and loved being in her Care Group.

She is survived by two sons, Harry (Betty) Mickey of Wenatchee and Robert (Cindy) Mickey of Homosassa, FL; two daughters, Florence (John) Cavcey of Arlington, WA and Darlene (David Permut) Mickey of Arlington, VA; eight grandchildren, Todd and Tyler Mickey, Steve Cavcey, Rick Cavcey, Brian Mickey, Jessica Mickey-Permut and Natasha Pagni and Icell Mickey; and nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar Mickey; and her sister, Violet Andrews.

Services of Commemoration will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Betts Memorial Chapel.  Burial will follow at the Wenatchee City Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wenatchee Free Methodist Church Building Fund.
