Joyce Elizabeth Vickrey

Joyce Elizabeth Vickrey was born on July 3, 1924, at Coulee City, WA, to John Leroy and Sarah (Dyer) Vickrey. She passed away on April 4, 2008. Joyce was formerly married to Charles Huston, Harry Lawson and Beauford Fitzgerald. She was an active member of many organizations in her lifetime including the Eagles Auxiliary 204 since 1961, lifetime VIM member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 10, the AARP, and a former member of Wenatchee Elks Emblem Club and the SnoKing Chapter 272 Parents Without Partners of Seattle. She was vice president of East Wenatchee Chapter of Children's Orthopedic, secretary of District 3 Old Time Fiddlers and vice president of Speedway Racy Ladies. Joyce lived and worked for 60 years in the Wenatchee Valley at various jobs in the apple industry and restaurants. She was known and loved by many and will be truly missed by her friends and family.

Joyce is survived by three sons and two daughters, John Huston of Grand Coulee, WA, Michael Huston of Marysville, WA, James Lawson of Sunnyvale, CA, Carol Chandler of Post Falls, ID, and Mary Harrell of Montgomery, TX. She is also survived by one brother, John L. Vickrey of Wenatchee. In addition, Joyce loved and enjoyed her 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sarah Vickrey, and one brother, Richard Clair Vickrey. A family memorial and celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
