Lillie Frances (Attebury) Kyle was born January 4, 1941, in Fort Worth, TX. She passed from this earthly life on February 7, 2008, in East Wenatchee, WA. Lillie was raised in Austin, TX and she married the love of her life, Emery H. Kyle, on April 20, 1956. They moved to Cedar Rapids, IA, where she raised her four children. Lillie worked for Nissen/Universal and proudly retired with 25 years of service. She had a joy of sewing, creating clothing for her family; a love for cooking, experimenting with new tastes and recipes. Lillie loved to 'shop till she dropped.' She enjoyed exercising her brain by learning new things and acquiring knowledge by attending continuing education classes or asking the experts. Lillie was adventurous and never met a 'stranger'. She collected numerous items with her favorite being her beloved Red birds. Lillie was an avid reader, especially romance and the height of gossip. She was very thoughtful and was always doing things for others. Lillie loved to travel and experience new places. She was inspired to move to Washington by her grandchildren as well as memories of a visit to the state as a youth. Emery and she made the move to Washington after his retirement.
Lillie was preceded in death by a daughter, her parents, and three siblings. She is survived by her husband, Emery; children, James Kyle of Minnesota, Cindy (Brian) Lesmeister of Wenatchee, Kathy (Gloria) Kyle of Texas and Crystal Kyle of Minnesota; brother, Thomas Attebury of Texas; sister, Mary Hartgrave of Iowa; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. Celebration of Life services will be held Friday, May 2, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., at Jones & Jones~Betts Funeral Home with chaplain Scott Langager officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
