Patricia Mildred Hannahs
Spokane, Washington
March 11, 2008

Patricia Mildred Hannahs, born in Coulee City, WA, to John and Mildred Gaines on September 17, 1931, went to be with her Savior the Lord Jesus on March 11, 2008, in Spokane, WA, ending a long battle with COPD and emphysema. She grew up on a wheat farm west of Coulee City and went to grade school at the Highland School before graduating from Coulee City High School. Pat moved to Douglas, WA, and lived with her sister and brother-in-law, Verdonna and Lloyd Buse, where she met her husband of 43 years, John Richard Hannahs. They made their first home in Waterville for seven years and owned the Chevron Service Station. Pat and John were blessed with one son, Gregory Richard Hannahs in 1956. In 1962, they moved to Soap Lake, WA, and then to Ephrata, WA. She worked as a nursing assistant at Columbia Basin Hospital and as a private duty care giver for many patients in the area. In 2004, Pat moved to Spokane, WA, to be closer to her son and his family. She was a lifetime member of Ephrata Post No. 28 of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Cheryle Hannahs. She was a devoted grandmother to Krystal and Lynsey Hannahs of Colbert, WA. Pat is also survived by her sister, Valeria Beck of Deer Park, WA; brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Estel Gaines of Moses Lake, WA; sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Morse of Wenatchee; long time friend, Lawrence Weber of Spokane; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gaines.

Patricia will be remembered as a woman who was small in stature, but overflowing with life and fun. She could not walk by a stranger without learning their story. She made friends wherever she went and always had time to listen.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at the Waterville Cemetery in Waterville, WA. If desired, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Washington in Pat's name.
